Why choose a Fixed Term Deposit Account?
Committing a certain percentage of your cash to fixed-term savings could be a sensible way to balance risk. Our Fixed Term Deposit Account allows you to fix the rate on your funds for a timeframe of your choosing — from one month to five years or longer — and in a range of currencies.
The benefits

- Benefit from a fixed rate of interest for the entire term.
- No maximum balance.
- Minimum balance of £25,000 (up to one year) and £1m (over one year).
- Available in a range of currencies, including sterling, euro and US dollar.
The Private Fixed Term Deposit Account is available to all our Coutts Current Account clients but must be held in the same currency as your current account. Early closure is not permitted during the term of your deposit. Over 18s only.

How do I open and manage my account?
- This account is only available to you if you hold a Coutts Current Account or Currency Current Account denominated in the same currency as the Fixed Term Deposit Account you wish to open.
- The following minimum and maximum amounts apply to accounts in sterling. Different minimum amounts and periods may apply to other currencies. Details available on request.
- For amounts above £25,000 in GBP, EUR and USD, and for fixed terms of up to 12 months, you can apply online. If you are using our old app and online banking please contact your Private Banker as you cannot apply for a Fixed Term Deposit online.
- For other amounts and fixed terms, contact your Private Banker or call 020 7957 2424 (Relay UK 18001 0207 957 2424).
- You can manage your account by contacting your Private Banker, calling Coutts 24 or via our digital services.
Can I withdraw money?
- No, withdrawals are not permitted during the term of the deposit.
- When a deposit matures, we will transfer the total amount plus any interest to your linked Coutts Current Account/Currency Current Account on the same working day.

Early closure is not permitted during the term of the deposit.

Any deposits you hold above the limit are unlikely to be covered. Investment business undertaken with Coutts & Co in the UK may be covered by the FSCS, the cover depends on the nature of the claim being made. Eligible claims for most types of investment business are covered up to the limit per person. FSCS cover is not available for loss of money resulting from performance of the investment.
