That’s why we've introduced product transfers for your Coutts mortgage clients, making the process as seamless as possible.

Eligibility

Product transfers are available for both residential and buy to let mortgages and can be arranged within 4 months of the current product end date or where a client is on our House Mortgage Rate (HMR). Please note that requests for changes to the mortgage term or repayment type cannot be made alongside a product transfer.

What products are excluded?

  • Offset as this requires an affordability assessment
  • Short term tracker products
  • Mortgage Reserve Account (MRA)

Application process

  • With your client’s consent, complete the Product Transfer request form and email it to couttsintermediaryteamreferrals@coutts.com.
  • We'll email you the Variation Agreement, that includes the ESIS - please allow two working days to receive these documents.
  • Return the signed variation agreement to couttsintermediaryteamreferrals@coutts.com.
  • We'll complete the product transfer:
    • Existing Fixed Rate products will switch on the roll off date (the day after the previous products end date).
    • Existing HMR and Tracker mortgages — please allow two working days from receipt of the variation agreement to complete.
  • Clients will receive written confirmation that the variation has completed.
  • Brokers will be notified of completion via the Private Banking Broker Team.

How to cancel a product transfer

  • You can cancel a product transfer prior to completion by providing written confirmation to  couttsintermediaryteamreferrals@coutts.com. If you wish to select a new mortgage rate, you will need to complete the process again.

Procuration fees

  • We'll pay 0.2% of the mortgage value capped at £12,500. This is in relation to the total client transaction of one or more expiring elements.
  • It will be paid via your nominated payment path.
