Can I pay all international payment charges?

Yes, you can pay all charges for payments outside of the EEA, as long as the person you're paying's country legislation allows for charges to be paid by the person making the payment.

Can the person receiving the international payment pay the charge?

Can the person receiving the international payment pay the charge?

Yes, you can ask the payee to pay charges for any payments outside of the EEA. Go to the New International Payment screen, select 'Charges' then 'All charges to be paid by payee'. The full payment will be debited to the account and the amount, minus the charge, will be sent to the payee. We can only provide this option if the beneficiary's country legislation allows all payment charges to be paid by the payee.

To make an international payment:
- Select 'Payments and then 'International Payments'. Choose which account you want to send the money from, then either select the payee, or add a new payee.
If the payee is new tap 'Add new payee', enter their details including the country of the payees bank, the payees address and either BIC/SWIFT code or National Bank number.

The cut-off time for international payments is 14:30 (GMT/BST). The best value date depends on the payment currency and country. The cut-off time for a SEPA payment is 14:00 (GMT/BST). The payment should reach the recipient in one to three days however, some payments may take up to five days to arrive with the recipients depending on currency type and destination.
