How do I cancel a Direct Debit?
To cancel a Direct Debit
- Select Payments and Transfers
- Select Direct Debits
- Select a Direct Debit from the list to view further details
- Select Cancel Direct debit. (If viewed on a mobile device ‘More options’ will need to be selected first)
- Select Confirm to cancel the direct debit.
Remember: this will only cancel the instruction with the bank. You will need to contact the company to whom the Direct Debit is being paid to inform them that the instruction has been cancelled. Direct Debits can take up to 2 working days to cancel so please be aware that your payment may still be made if you are trying to cancel a Direct Debit too close to the payment date.
