On 26 January, Coutts was awarded Gold Prize for Absolute Return Portfolios at a gala ceremony in London for the prestigious Portfolio Adviser Wealth Manager Awards 2017.

The Awards span Platinum and Gold awards for Cautious, Balanced, Aggressive and Absolute Return portfolios, with awards for both large firms (those with £3bn or more under management) and boutiques.

This year they received more entries than ever, with strong competition in every category.

The awards recognize exceptional talent in managing client money. The two-part judging process started with a session for wealth managers to pitch exactly how they would manage a client’s wealth based on different scenarios. The second part looked at performance with analysis undertaken by Enhance Group, providers of independent reviews of portfolio performance and risk.

The judging panel included experienced individuals from leading financial planners, law firms, accountancy practices, consultancy businesses and trust companies.
