Natural Rejuvanation - Recharging the Batteries
Imagine waking up in the morning with a spring in your step, bundles of positivity and bags of energy. Who wouldn’t want that? Just think what you could achieve. You could be like Polly Higgins for instance. She’s an international environmental barrister who’s working on a universal declaration of planetary rights. She’s been to the United Nations and met with heads of state. Where does she find the energy? Well that’s the key. Because as she says, “I have an enormous project on my hands. To be able to do this I really have to manage my energy. It’s not so much a time thing. If you have lots of energy you have the time. With lots of energy nothing’s a problem.” Yet just five months ago all this seemed an impossibility. Then the campaign was just an idea. “Given the enormity of the project I knew I could be overwhelmed very fast. After giving an address at the UN I had 1,000 emails,” she says. And then one day she noticed changes in a colleague. She was looking happy, less stressed. “I could even see it in her physiology,” comments Higgins. And that was the turning point. Higgins learnt about E Rejuvenation and has never looked back.
A short step away from London’s Liverpool Street station is the Rejuvenation Centre on Commercial Street. It’s here that Higgins’ life ‘has totally opened up’, according to Sarah McCrum, E Rejuvenation consultant. “The idea was there before but she was just engulfed in personal problems, and now she’s become a representative for the whole world.” If this seems a miracle cure, it isn’t. There’s no quick fix. Some do notice benefits straight away. But generally it takes a course of sessions and then people do seem to come away changed for the better.
Higgins has also noticed a health benefit. She’d been on medication for her thyroid for five years. When she took a trip and forgot to take her pills, she made do without. “Now, amazingly I have no problems,” she says. Her doctor is also amazed and wants to confirm it with a second test. “My body is telling me I no longer need the medication,” Higgins says. “I’m working with my body’s energy and creating good energy to make thyroxin again. For me this is a secondary thing, it’s bigger picture stuff.”
“I’ve seen a lot of people turn their health around. They’ve walked in as somebody who’s totally overwhelmed by health problems and they’ve walked out totally free of them. That’s very satisfying,” says McCrum. But the ‘bigger picture stuff’ is about achieving a quality of life that brims over into every aspect of a person’s being. So what is it?
Another client says, “I can happily say I’ve got my enthusiasm back for my work. I feel I’m working in quite a different way and things are coming to me quite naturally.”
Sessions can be private, but generally they take place in a group, and a course is recommended. This can be from one month upwards. Once completed, some leave and only return if they feel they need a boost at a later date. For others it’s a lifetimes’ discipline. Many people come to the centre on a daily basis, and I joined in on a 7am session to find out how it worked.
In a room are people are tucked up cosily in white towels laying on leather recliners, their feet on foot stools. Lights are dimmed. There’s an air of calm. McCrum is seated on a stool at the front, dressed in a white trouser suit and framed by a red backdrop. It has an other worldly feel. Everyone’s welcomed. We have our faces refreshed with a fragrant smelling cologne. Then the outside world disappears as eye pads and a face mask are applied.
“We talk here a lot about energy, you could call that life energy,” says McCrum. “When you have more of that then you become positive.”Noises behind us indicate the energy experts have entered the room. What follows is a mixture of massage combined with a guided visualisation led by McCrum. As you give up control and relax into the chair you’re taken over by a mixture of experiences. Wooden instruments click away along the legs and feet, sounding like castanets. It’s a sensual combination. When the treatment’s over a plate with fruit salad, smoked salmon on bread and Chinese tea is brought round. As everyone quietly enjoys their breakfast they’re asked how they feel. This is the talking time to discuss problems and reflect on improvements. And all those in the room were positive about the benefits.
McCrum says, “There are a lot of promises out there these days. My experience is that everybody benefits and everybody’s surprised, and that’s really the most enjoyable thing about it.” E Rejuvenation clients include big names such as BBC, Boots and Toshiba. There’s a leadership programme running at the moment which is attracting local businesses. As McGrum comments, “I think that the majority of the population have a feeling of potential that they’re not fulfilling and that’s because of energy.” It seems anyone who’s looking for a richer life is visiting Commercial Street.
The Rejuvenation Centre is offering Coutts Woman readers 12 sessions for the price of 10 (£888). For more information on the centre visit www.therejuvenationcentre.com
