The Prince's Trust
The Prince's Trust helps young people, who would not otherwise have the opportunity, to succeed and is passionate about turning untapped potential into real success. It particularly focuses on those who are unemployed, under-skilled, within or leaving the criminal justice system or leaving care.
The Prince's Trust was set up by HRH The Prince of Wales in 1976. Last year it supported 40,000 young people overcome barriers to success.
To mark the fortieth anniversary of their first hit single, 'Pictures of Matchstick Men', and raise money for The Prince's Trust, Status Quo hosted a star-studded auction/album launch on 5 November 2008 at Bonhams, supported by Coutts & Co. Fifty renowned musicians, artists and stars took up a challenge from The Prince's Trust and created their own versions of classic Quo single/album covers. They were auctioned with all proceeds going to the charity. Personalities as diverse as Brian Wilson, Sir Tom Stoppard, Andrew Marr, Alice Cooper, Fiona Phillips, Brian May, Nick Mason, Sir Steve Redgrave, Harry Hill, Chris Tarrant, Rolf Harris, David Shepherd, Chelsea and Liverpool FC and the cast of Coronation Street have contributed works – some of which have to be seen to be believed. The band themselves have all completed artworks too so, if you've ever wanted to hang a member of Status Quo, this was your chance – and was all for a good cause!
Coutts is delighted to be supporting The Prince's Trust – this partnership brings together one of the UK's leading wealth managers and the UK's leading charity helping young people to get their lives working
The RBSG through its various operating arms – the Royal Bank itself, NatWest and Coutts - has a long history of involvement with The Prince's Trust. Our support is making a vital contribution to the Trust's work in London. We hope that with the help and support of our clients we can strive to do much more around the country towards the success of The Trust.
