Coutts & Co expands Birmingham team with two new Private Bankers

Coutts & Co has announced the appointment of two new private bankers, Miles Plumb and Nathan Dosanjh to its Birmingham team. Miles and Nathan will be advising the growing client base in the Midlands region, with a particular focus on the local entrepreneurs market.

Miles is 44 years old, married and has lived in Solihull all his life. He began his career with Barclays but left in 1986 to set up his own business in the local area. Having built a flourishing business and looking for a new challenge, he sold in 1994 and decided to re-enter the world of commerce. Prior to joining Coutts in November 2006, Miles was an Area Sales Manager with Bank of Scotland Investment Service. In 2005 Miles was one of the first people in the UK to achieve the title of ‘Chartered Financial Planner’ and has joined Coutts as a Senior Private Banker.

Now aged 28, Nathan Dosanjh was born in Birmingham and went to school at King Edwards Five Ways. Having graduated Loughborough University in 2000, with a degree in Economics & Politics he went on to Butler University in the USA where he obtained an MBA. On returning to the UK, he worked as an IFA, then as a Private Client Manager before joining Coutts as a Private Banker in September 2006. Nathan is single and lives in Birmingham.

Tom Ingham-Clark, senior manager, at Coutts & Co in Birmingham commented: “Birmingham is widely considered to be the UK’s second city, with a reputation forged as a powerhouse of the Industrial Revolution. This has led the city to be known as the ‘workshop of the world’ so it’s no wonder that it’s already home to almost 1,500 of our clients. But with a further 18,000 potential millionaires in the area, and a rapidly growing client base it’s vital that we expand our team with qualified and experienced staff. We’re delighted that Miles and Nathan have decided to join us and their arrivals mean that we now have nine private bankers in the Birmingham office.”

Last month Coutts unveiled plans for significant expansion of its regional office network at the end of 2007. As part of its expansion plans, the private bank has been increasing the number of private bankers in its regional offices by as much as 60% with some local teams doubling in size.
