Coutts & Co appoints senior banker for Yorkshire

Coutts & Co has announced the appointment of Barbara Jackson as Senior Banker for Yorkshire region, succeeding John Richardson who retires on 23 July 2007. In her role, Barbara will help Coutts locally to maintain strong relationships with clients, raise awareness of Coutts wealth management offerings within the business community and introduce individuals attracted to the highly personal and responsive service available to clients.

Barbara Jackson is a local businesswoman from Bradford who’s career history spans marketing, sales, customer service and lending roles within Midland Bank and HSBC and helping to restructure an overseas group of restaurants. During the last 12 months Barbara has also committed a large amount of time to raising money for Bradford Teaching Hospitals, helping fund ground breaking research towards the better health of children, both now and in the future.

Alan Edwards, senior manager, at Coutts & Co in Leeds commented: “We are delighted that  Barbara has joined the team at what is a very exciting time for our operations in Yorkshire. We have been in Leeds for 15 years now and have one of the largest private banking teams outside of London. It is a real tribute to John that over the last five years the office has seen such rapid growth in Yorkshire, which in turn is an endorsement of the prosperity and success of entrepreneurs in this region. We wish him well in the future.”

Barbara added, “I am absolutely thrilled to be joining the Leeds team, with the aim of helping to raise their profile within the local community. Coutts has an unrivalled reputation for providing clients with expert wealth management services and with the weight of such a successful and prestigious company behind me, I’m very much looking forward to the role.”
