Coutts calls for charities in the North West to apply for a place at funding event

Coutts & Co is inviting charities from the North West with a turnover of less than £1 million to apply to take part in a ‘Dragon’s Den’ style evening in which they can pitch for funding.

In association with The Funding Network (TFN), Coutts hopes to help deliver sustainable support to five charities from the region and is looking for charities that aim to achieve social change; have the potential to enable positive transformation for either individuals, communities, society and the environment over the long term.

TFN has been described as ‘speed-dating for philanthropists’. Their experience and partnership with Coutts has provided members and Coutts clients with education and experience in supporting less well-known charities and non-profit making associations. It administers donations, reclaims Gift Aid, and ensures charities receive their funding swiftly.

To apply, charities are asked to complete a two page application form. A selection panel will then create a shortlist of candidates and follow up with each through a brief interview. Five charities will then be selected to present at an event in Manchester on 10 November on why £5,000 would make a sustainable difference to them.

Opportunity will then be given for pledges to be made and guests will be asked to make an informed choice on whether to support one or more of the charities.

Dylan Williams, Managing Partner for Coutts in the North West said "Coutts has a long association with supporting philanthropy and good causes. Through this partnership with The Funding Network, we look forward to helping support some of the terrific charities that do such good work in the North West."
