Coutts and RBS Shipping have together announced the appointment of Elena Mavrogonatou, as ‘Head of Shipping Wealth’. In the new role, Elena will be responsible for leveraging RBS Shipping’s leading global position in shipping finance, to introduce the wealth management offering of Coutts International Private Banking to high-net-worth individuals working within the industry.
Sitting within Coutts’ International Private Banking team at 440 Strand, London, and working closely with colleagues in Switzerland, Singapore, Monaco and other parts of the Coutts international network, Elena will run a dedicated international team, and will manage a portfolio of clients, providing a full range of wealth solutions, including specific advice on cross border structures and lending, investments and taxation services to clients within the world of shipping.
Elena joins Coutts with over 20 years of experience, most recently from Barclays Wealth where she was Director of Wealth Management with overall responsibility for the Greek and Cypriot shipping and industrials markets. During her career, Elena has worked in various global financial centres including London, New York and Zurich.
