Coutts & Co and Louise Goldin’s ‘Paper Dress’ now at the Fashion and Textile Museum
The Fashion and Textile Museum is currently displaying the stunning Louise Goldin ‘Paper Dress’ that was commissioned by Coutts & Co to be the centrepiece of their Coutts Fashion Forward window installation, during London Fashion Week. The dress will be displayed for two weeks from the 27th September and is attracting considerable interest from the press and visitors.
The dress, made almost entirely of sustainably sourced paper, was commissioned by Coutts in celebration of their sponsorship of this year’s Fashion Forward Award and has been designed to raise awareness amongst UK creative industry entrepreneurs of the equal importance for business planning as well as creativity to ensure success.
Coutts, in collaboration with fashion consultant Guy Hipwell, approached Louise to create a dramatic, exclusive and eye-catching dress to form the stunning centrepiece for their window. Echoing the style of items from Louise’s spring/summer 2010 collection, complete with its dramatic pleats and intricate folds, hours of design and careful cutting, pasting and gluing went into its creation and the result has produced one of the most striking windows ever created by Coutts.
The Fashion and Textile Museum is thrilled to have the opportunity to display this spectacular piece for the next two weeks so that visitors can get a chance to view the dress if they missed it during London Fashion Week.
