Be inspired by the sophisticated and tailored looks of the 1940s and 50s with these stunning made to measure dresses.
Albertine Burdett is the creation of Karen Burdett-Proctor. Working as a stylist at Liberty of London, Karen could never find dresses that fitted real women and combined quality with effortless contemporary style. So in the time honoured Burdett-Coutts tradition (she is a distant descendant of Francis Burdett-Coutts), she did something about it.
Finding inspiration in the sophisticated and tailored looks of the 1940s and 50s she created a line of dress shapes and went about finding remarkable fabrics and a Saville Row trained tailor to make them for her.
Wanting to create dresses with exceptional fit combined with fabrics that even the best brands don’t offer, Karen has worked with some of the world’s best fabric houses to create individual and inspirational looks, from hard to find couture silks that give the most luxurious finish to fabulous fresh cottons for day dresses that last and last.
The dresses are fitted to each client and then hand made in London with the aim that they can be easily altered giving you a beautifully glamorous dress that will last a lifetime. For our bespoke service our experienced stylists work with clients to select the right dress design and fabric. So if you want to highlight your best feature, or play down another, we can adjust just about anything. If you want to add a sleeve or a different skirt, or change the length, we can easily do it.
The Albertine Burdett look suits all sorts of women for all occasions from red carpet to Ascot and weddings to excellent tailored dresses for work.
