The Landmark London is probably one of the capitals most luxurious hotels, but without the profile of some of its other 5-star counterparts. Underservedly so though, as the hotel’s location and stunning combination of old-style glamour and modern luxury makes this the hotel of choice for any self-respecting fashionista.

Originally opened as The Great Central Hotel in 1899, The Landmark is one of the last of the great Victorian railway hotels. The hotel’s design reflects the wealth and power of the era, and today’s newly restored masterpiece transports you back to a time of unimagined opulence and comfort. Its most outstanding feature is the soaring glass-roofed atrium, providing an incredible sense of space and light as you walk through its centre.

Don’t be put off by the poor website. The suites and rooms are elegant and with rates starting at £280 per night, it is amongst the capital’s more reasonably priced luxury hotels. The adjoining spa and health club are a great way to unwind after a day traipsing around the shows – and to work of those calorific canapés.

The spa is complete with a 15-metre chlorine-free heated swimming pool, a glass-walled poolside Klafs sanarium, menthol and sandalwood showers, steam rooms, a whirlpool, plus lavish treatment rooms. With a range of ESPA and VOYA treatments, you can choose something to soothe every ache and strain.

Take afternoon tea in the stunning Winter garden restaurant, set within the atrium of the hotel. With regular live music, the light, airy setting is as relaxing as it is romantic. Undo your spa health kick with the more indulgent than most, Chocolate Afternoon Tea menu. With the usual cucumber and egg mayo sandwiches, this decadent tea follows up with delights such as the scrummy white chocolate and mint macaroon, chocolate dipped strawberries, chocolate and raspberry creme brulee and white chocolate cheesecake. And if that’s not enough, the third course of chocolate chip and fruit scones, with a choice of fruit or chocolate spread, will sate the cravings of even the most ardent chocoholics.

If you have the energy to carry on partying, there are plenty of options within the hotel. twotwentytwo is a stylish bar and restaurant and a great place to enjoy fantastic cocktails, a vast selection of beers, spirits and carefully chosen wines. Snack on their tasty sharing platters while catching up with the girls on the latest gossip.

And if its decadence you’re after, head up to the Mirror Bar to indulge in Champagne and cocktails, as well as some of the world’s finest Cognacs and Whiskies. With an air of 50’s glamour, make like a black and white Hollywood star and indulge.
