Coutts Forum for Entrepreneurs - Forum Dinner with Deidre Bounds

West Yorkshire – 18 September 2008

On Thursday 18 September, Coutts & Co hosted a private dinner for entrepreneurs at Wood Hall Hotel, Wetherby, West Yorkshire, with Deirdre Bounds, the 'ethical entrepreneur and accidental millionaire', as guest speaker.

Deidre sold her ethical travel company, i-to-i, for many millions in 2007 after commencing trading only 10 years earlier.

She spoke of her career to date and her journey from 'bedsit to big time', with no commercial experience, no family history of enterprise and no money - just a great idea, lots of passion, masses of mistakes and a sense of humour.

She also spoke of her business aims - to challenge traditional ideas in the travel industry and to dare to be different. This stimulated some lively debate and there were many questions from the invited guests.

The event forms part of Coutts' ongoing commitment to provide platforms for entrepreneurs to network with like-minded individuals and discuss their own business ventures and the challenges and achievements associated with them
