Coutts Forum for Entrepreneurs: How to invest as a business angel with Envestors

Cardiff – 8 October 2008

On Wednesday 8 October at the Celtic Manor Resort, on the outskirts of Newport in Wales, Coutts & Co hosted a private presentation, ‘How to invest as a business angel’, in conjunction with Envestors, a London-based company which seeks to bring entrepreneurs and investors together.

The guest list comprised current business angels, those wishing to invest in the future and a number of entrepreneurs seeking investment.

Bob Taylor, a partner at Envestors, gave a presentation on investing as a Business Angel, outlining what motivates investors and the value of their experience.

Michael Anderson, an experienced angel investor, gave a personal insight into his own investment history, including both successes and the 'ones that got away'.

Irene Wolstenholme, a Coutts senior tax specialist, gave a short presentation on the tax benefits on offer to angel investors, in particular the government’s Enterprise Investment Scheme.

There was also the opportunity for networking over drinks and canapés.

The event forms part of Coutts' ongoing commitment to provide platforms for entrepreneurs around the UK to network with like-minded individuals and discuss their own business ventures and the challenges and achievements associated with them.
