Coutts Forum For Entrepreneurs - Guest speaker Gerry Pack

On Thursday 3 April, Coutts & Co hosted a private dinner for entrepreneurs at the Strand, with Gerry Pack, the non-executive chairman of Holiday Extras Holdings Limited, as guest speaker.

He spoke of the difficult decisions he faced in exiting the business which he had grown from scratch, and how his solution, which involved setting up his own venture capital trust, seemed the logical option if he wanted to maintain some level of involvement with the company.

His views and ideas stimulated some lively debate around the tax implications of such a strategy, and there were many questions from the invited guests on a range of topics, including whether this was the most effective way to step back from a business.

The event forms part of Coutts’ ongoing commitment to provide platforms for entrepreneurs to network with like-minded individuals and discuss their own business ventures and the challenges and achievements associated with them.
