Propeller and the Watermill Theatre
The Watermill Theatre

Early in 2007 Coutts announced its first sponsorship of Propeller’s touring productions of The Taming of the Shrew and Twelfth Night, directed by Edward Hall.  The productions toured to a number of the UK regions, allowing Coutts to entertain existing and potential clients of our regional offices.

The Watermill Theatre, home for the Propeller troupe, produces quality work that attracts high calibre artists and creative teams, earning it a reputation as one of the very best producing regional theatres in the country.  It is one of only five theatres that has been awarded a National Touring remit by Arts Council England and its work tours and entertains, moves and impresses audiences at home and internationally. Edward Hall is the artistic director for the theatre company Propeller, which is an all-male Shakespearean group who mix a rigorous approach to the text with a modern physical aesthetic. They look for ways to inform the physical life of the production with the poetry of the text.
