Coutts proposition for Charities A History of Giving For over 300 years, Coutts has pursued a wide range of charitable interests. Most famously, perhaps, Angela Burdett-Coutts was one of the great Victorian philanthropists. Her good works included being amongst the first to support cancer research and serving as President of the Ladies' Committee of the RSPCA. She also gave William Marsden an interest free loan to secure the land where the Royal Marsden Hospital stands today. Today, this charitable tradition is proudly upheld. The Coutts Foundation and the Coutts Charitable Trust were set up to maximise the impact of our giving and we support numerous good causes. On a wider level, our parent company, The Royal Bank of Scotland Group, continues to be the only organisation based in the UK to double-match employees' payroll donations to charity. |
