Sponsorship of Matthew Williamson’s 10 Years in Fashion – at the design museum
Last night Coutts were presented with the Hollis Arts Sponsorship of the Year Award for their sponsorship of “Matthew Williamson’s 10 Years in Fashion” exhibition at The Design Museum. Encountering tough competition from three other short listed companies, Coutts scooped the top prize at a glittering awards ceremony held at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel.
The Hollis Arts Sponsorship Awards recognises campaigns which are creative, well researched and based on sound objectives, but most importantly, campaigns that can demonstrate success. The judges comprising of clients, consultancies, researchers and the media agreed that Coutts met and exceeded all the criteria.
Sarah Deaves, Chief Executive, Coutts commented: “I am absolutely delighted that this innovative sponsorship with Matthew Williamson which has helped us to reach many more women, has been recognised by this prestigious award. Coutts has been a proud supporter of the arts throughout its 300 year history, not least by managing the financial affairs of many fashion designers, milliners and tailors, but also in 1856, an account was opened to help dressmakers and milliners who had fallen on hard times.”
Coutts sponsored “Matthew Williamson’s 10 Years in Fashion” exhibition at the Design Museum which ran from 17 October 2007 to 31 January 2008. The exhibition was a celebration of the designers work and acknowledged his remaining presence at the forefront of the fashion industry with his cutting edge colour and print designs and natural ability to dress women beautifully. The exhibition travels to the Urbis in Manchester, Matthew Williamson's home town, this March.
