Coutts & Co opens its doors in Liverpool
5 November 2003
Coutts & Co, the UK’s leading private bank, has today officially opened for business in the exclusive Prince’s Dock development in Liverpool.
The bank, which serves some of the country’s top entrepreneurs, executives and sports and entertainment stars, announced its intention to move into Liverpool last year, after seeing a dramatic increase in clients coming from the area. Research into the region later identified Merseyside as the fastest growing area for potential wealth, outside of London.
The office, which will serve the Merseyside and North Wales regions, will provide a more convenient base for the large numbers of existing clients in the area, as well as offering Coutts’ services to new clients. It opens with a team of five private bankers, including senior private banker, Paul Scott. Paul, who has lived in Liverpool for 17 years, was recruited to head up the new office in May this year. Before joining Coutts, Paul spent over 14 years working with HSBC Private Clients and Barclays, in the Liverpool area.
Paul Scott comments: “We are delighted that this office is now open for business and feel that with the Prince’s Dock, we have selected a location that epitomises the essence of modern businesses in Liverpool today. This new office reflects Coutts’ continued commitment to the regions, and bringing our services closer to our clients.”
The Liverpool opening brings the total number of Coutts offices in the UK to 24. Coutts has 8 offices in London and 16 outside of the capital.
