Coutts & Co makes a senior private banker appointment

Coutts & Co, the UK’s leading private bank, has announced the appointment of John Needham as senior private banker in its Eton regional office.

The appointment, which is part of Coutts’ regional expansion plans, marks the continued success of Coutts & Co’s office in Eton, which has been growing steadily since it opened in 1961.  Eton, which is the Bank’s longest-established office outside London, now manages £57m of assets on behalf of clients in Eton and the surrounding areas.

John has joined an established team of private bankers within the Eton regional office who focus on managing the private banking and investment requirements of high net worth clients.  John will also be responsible for strengthening links within the business and professional community.

John has fifteen years’ experience in financial markets, having worked with a number of investment specialists.  Prior to joining Coutts & Co, John worked as an investment manager with Deloitte & Touche Wealth Management, managing its private client investment operations across two offices in the South East of England.

Robert Taylor, head of private banking at Coutts & Co, commented: “We are delighted to welcome John to the team in Eton as his experience within both the investment market and the local business community is highly impressive.  We are confident that he will work with the existing team to continue to develop the business throughout Eton and surrounding areas.”

Coutts & Co unveiled plans for significant expansion of its regional office network at the end of 2002.  As part of its expansion plans, the private bank is currently increasing the number of private bankers in its regional offices by nearly 30 per cent.  It is also planning to open a new office in Liverpool later this year.
