COUTTS SUPPORTS PETER MARTIN BENEFIT YEAR
January 2002
As part of its support for Peter Martin's Benefit Year, Coutts last week hosted a luncheon for business people and guests from the sports and entertainment world at its offices in Manchester. To kick-start the benefit year, the UK's leading private bank presented Peter with a cheque for £500.
Guests at the luncheon included cricketers Michael Atherton, Neil Fairbrother and Warren Hegg, and Manchester-based accountants and solicitors. They were joined by private bankers from Coutts office in Manchester. Guests enjoyed watching England versus India live on Sky Sports and a buffet lunch.
Coutts private banker Dylan Williams is a member of the Peter Martin Benefit Year fundraising committee. He said: "Coutts is delighted to be able to support Peter Martin's Benefit Year. I am particularly looking forward to working with Peter and other members of the fundraising committee."
Coutts recently announced the expansion of its sports and entertainment client group in the Manchester office to help service the increased demand from clients in the north of England. The sports and entertainment client group is the fastest growing of Coutts ten client groups, and has seen a rapid growth of 38 per cent in its client base throughout the UK over the past two years.
Coutts is actively involved in the benefit years of a number of sports stars. It is also sponsoring an event for Premiership footballers at St Martin's Lane Hotel in London this Sunday. The event will raise money for NSPCC's Football Full Stop Campaign to put an end to cruelty to children.
