COUTTS SUPPORTS LOCAL PRINCE'S TRUST INITIATIVE
1 July 2002
Coutts & Co's Tunbridge Wells regional office has teamed up with The Prince's Trust, the UK's leading charity for young people, to help unemployed people throughout Kent.
As part of The Prince's Trust's national programme to help young entrepreneurs to set up their own businesses, Coutts & Co is today hosting a private dinner for clients from Tunbridge Wells at its head office in London. The aim of the dinner is to introduce clients to the work of The Prince's Trust and encourage them to support the Start-up 30,000 scheme to get that number of new businesses up and running nationally by 2005.
The Prince's Trust starts up a number of businesses in Kent every year and currently supports about 140 active businesses in the area. Some of the successful businesses it has supported over recent years include a nappy laundering service, mobile hairdressers, plumbers, designers and artists.
Matthew Cull, fundraising manager for the Prince's Trust in the South East, says: "By introducing influential clients to the work of The Prince's Trust, Coutts is playing an invaluable role in helping us to start up, and support, exciting new businesses in the area. We are delighted to have their generous support and backing."
In support of the activities of The Prince's Trust, Coutts is holding a series of private dinners for clients around the UK.
Julie Birtchnell, private banker from Tunbridge Wells office, is responsible for looking after entrepreneurs based throughout Tunbridge Wells and Kent. She is in London to support today's local initiative.
She said: "At Coutts we offer an individual approach to managing the wealth of a number of the UK's most successful entrepreneurs, both helping clients to build up their businesses and supporting serial entrepreneurs who are buying and selling businesses. As part of our quest to establish Coutts position at the heart of the enterprise culture in the UK, we are delighted to have the opportunity to team up with The Prince's Trust to help create top entrepreneurs of tomorrow."
