COUTTS & CO MAKES SENIOR APPOINTMENT

Coutts & Co, the UK's leading private bank, has announced the appointment of Peter McIlwraith as local director in Bristol.
In his role as local director Peter, 55, will help Coutts continue to develop strong relationships with clients throughout the Bristol area. Working closely with the team of private bankers in Bristol, Peter will continue to help raise awareness of Coutts wealth management services within the local business community.
Peter has 35 years' professional experience with Price Waterhouse and, latterly, PricewaterhouseCoopers. A partner for more than 21 years, Peter was a senior parter in Bristol and led practice in the South West region for more than ten years. He also served on the regional council of the CBI for three years. In addition to his appointment as local director with Coutts, Peter holds a number of other non executive directorships.
Commenting on the appointment, Robert Taylor, head of private banking at Coutts, said: "The role of local director is an important one for Coutts, requiring an experienced business professional with a first-class reputation who has an impressive network of personal contacts. The appointment of a new local director follows Coutts announcement that it is nearly to double the number of private bankers in its Bristol office. Recruitment is underway to find five private bankers and two private banking officers to help meet the current demand for the services in the Bristol area. Coutts aims to have its new team in place by January.
