Coutts London Jewellery Week

The connection between Coutts and jewellery runs through the bank’s 300 year history, and begins with its foundation in 1692 by Scottish goldsmith-banker, John Campbell, who not only supplied plate and jewellery but also a full banking service to clients.

In 2008 and 2009 we sponsored Coutts London Jewellery Week. This was a public and private sector initiative that maximised support for small and medium sized enterprises and entrepreneurs. It presented a real chance for us to utilise the breath of our experience in supporting London’s vibrant jewellery industry.

To show our commitment to up-and-coming jewellers building their businesses in difficult market conditions, we created the Coutts New Jewellers Awards. The awards recognised and nurtured new talent in jewellery design and manufacture. The 20 winners were given complimentary participation in Coutts London Jewellery Week and the opportunity to showcase their designs to our clients. They were also able to draw on the bank’s wealth of expertise at a dedicated Coutts Business Development Forum, where keynote speakers were on hand to offer top tips on how to sustain, grow and market their businesses.
