As a private bank that works with over 18,000 of the UK's leading entrepreneurs, Coutts London Jewellery Week presents a real opportunity for the bank to utilise the breadth of its experience, in supporting London's vibrant jewellery industry.

In line with Government policy, and in response to recent rallying calls from the Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, and the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, the event, which runs from 8-14 June , will support a number of the small and independent businesses which are integral to Britain’s economy.

Coutts New Jewellers Awards

To show commitment to up-and-coming jewellers building their businesses in difficult market conditions, Coutts has created the Coutts New Jewellers Awards . The awards will recognise and nurture up-and-coming talent in jewellery design and manufacture.

The 20 winners of the awards will be given complimentary participation in Coutts London Jewellery Week and the opportunity to showcase their designs to Coutts clients. They will also be able to draw on the bank’s wealth of expertise at a dedicated Coutts Business Development Forum, where keynote speakers will be on hand to offer top tips on how to sustain, grow and market their businesses.

Coutts history of supporting art and design

The connection between Coutts and jewellery runs through the bank’s 300 year history, and begins with its foundation in 1692 by Scottish goldsmith-banker, John Campbell, who not only supplied plate and jewellery but also a full banking service to clients.

Last year, Coutts was delighted to be the co-sponsors of The Royal Ballet's dazzling production of Jewels , and the last four years have also seen Coutts supporting some of the top designers from the world of fashion, including Stella McCartney, Oswald Boateng, Alice Temperley and most recently Matthew Williamson's Ten years in Fashion at the Design Museum.

Coutts London Jewellery Week is an exciting extension to the bank’s support of both art and fashion and is vital in ensuring that the jewellery industry retains profile during a time when it is most in need, and that enterprise in jewellery is recognised regionally, nationally and internationally.

Clients will be given exclusive access to a limited number of events during the week. If you are a client and would like to register your interest in attending any Coutts London Jewellery Week events, please contact your private banker.
